Looking out for a relaxing weekend out of Singapore , Your wait is over.You head to Desaru,Malaysia.Desaru has an Ostrich farm,crocodile farm and fruit farm.But as we had planned to and fro on the same day with our toddlers who are 3 yrs old we just visited the Ostrich farm.And I assure you ,you wont regret being there and its more enjoyable trip for those with kids or without too as they get to walk among the ostriches who r harmless and tamed and also get to feed them,The staff is very friendly there and the place is clean on the standards of how a farm should be.
The place serves Ostrich meat n omelette too but if u are a vegetarian,I would advice you to carry your food with you.

Well, the most amazing thing was still awaiting our trip.As we loved the place we decided to stay there overnight,so we drove off to find a resort and unbelievably we got one too.We came across two Adjacently located resorts by the name Lotus Beach resort which was very huge but not sea facing and the Pulai Beach Desaru Resort.We decided to stay up at Pulai Beach Desaru Resort because mostly all the rooms were sea facing,was huge,better ambience than the other resort,sea facing swings ( Just love it ),hammock and resting chairs.
We booked the Superior room which was both pool ( has a kids pool too ) and sea facing.
The room was very big,with a well distributed Bathroom,dresser and was well kept.
Cost : $ 150 (Including the Breakfast Buffet )
The good news for people travelling with toddler and Kids is that the resort has an free indoor play area with a television installed inside playing a good kids movie all day through up till 10 pm when it closes .You need not be withe kids inside as the play area overlooks the cafe.You can overlook from the cafe while relaxing with or without ordering.The resort also has slides and fun activities like painting for kids,banana ride etc.For those looking for spending some romantic moments together,they have a live band playing as the sun goes down with the open sea facing bar till late in the night.
For spa lovers,You have a spa facility where in the rates are affordable too.The service was very good.For instance a Javanese body scrub for 60 mins costed around $ 50 .
Whether you are a vegetarian or non vegetarian its the place to be with a very tasty sumptuous variety of food not to forget the breakfast buffet.
If you are an Indian , you will come across Indian chef or attendees so can expect the well cooked Indian food in Al Carte.
If you are wanting to have seafood bbq,you can go to the adjacent Lotus Beach resort.
As we drove off with a friend ,I would suggest you to travel by Woodland check point.To Ostrich farm it would take 1 hr drive and to the resort from there took 30 mins.
If you plan to travel by Causeway Link bus board it from Singapore for Johor Bahru,You can book a taxi from there and reach the Ostrich farm.
